NEW YORK (By Ara E. Chekmayan/ Tactical PR/ takingittothestreetsmusic.com) - This past Saturday, Taking It to the
Streets Music, Inc. opened its tour in Charlotte, North Carolina to a crowd of some 14,000 people in what may go down as the most successful first time show ever held by a new Hip Hop promoter.
Company toppers Manny Lavan and Trent Terrell are shaking up the music world. The pair, who met in the milieu of finance, teamed up to create Taking It to the Streets Music, Inc., a vehicle to improve and advance Hip Hop.
This first tour is branding Taking It to the Streets Music, Inc. and serving to springboard their DVD magazine - TITTSMUSIC Magazine - coming out in October. The success of their maiden promotion is nothing less than astonishing.
"We brought hot young acts like Young Jeezy to Charlotte and the public went for it big time," said company president Terrell.
Attendance for the concert is particularly compelling because Charlotte suffered a monsoon, the worst storm for this year, the evening of the show. Still, the Hip Hop faithful flocked owing to the promotional genius of Taking It to the Streets Music, Inc. and the strength of the hot young artists they showcased.
"We brought a storm to Charlotte," said CEO Lavan. "The day was beautiful, then the night came and the beast was unleashed and I'm not referring to the weather. Yeah, it poured like a rainforest, but nothing could stop us and our artists."
And the artists were out in force. Bo Hagon, Gutta Boyz, Mr. Woods, Royalty, Young S Dub (of Russell Simmons Music Group), Rick Ross, E-40, Oscar winners Three 6 Mafia, Yung Joc and of course, Young Jeezy made the torrential downpours seem small by comparison to the power of their performances.
"We've gone beyond the bling, bringing strong, new talented artists to a public clamoring for class over crass when it comes to content," said Lavan. "It's on to Orlando. We're doing for Hip Hop what American Idol is doing for pop music. We are the future."
