NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - While the R. Kelly sex tape scandal wages on, the R&B superstar has settled another sexual-related civil lawsuit. Kelly has settled out of court with ex-Epic Records intern Tracy Sampson, who filed a $50,000 civil suit against the singer last August accusing him of inducing her into a sexual relationship at the age of 17. The Sampson suit is not the first sexual-related suit Kelly, who also married the late Aaliyah when she was just a teenager, has faced. In 1998, he settled out of court for a reported $250,000 with Tiffany Hawkins, a young woman who accused Kelly of inducing her into group sex with other underage girls when she was 15. Two more suits of a similar nature are reportedly being planned as well. Meanwhile, Kelly spoke out on Chicago radio station WGCI-FM, where protesters have urged the station to ban his music, on the alleged existence of a sex tape showing the singer having sex with another underage girl. "When you're famous, they expect you to work miracles, and I'm not God," Kelly told the station when asked on-air to explain the existence of the tape. Kelly's newest album, a co-title with rapper Jay-Z, The Best of Both Worlds, has seemingly suffered from the bad publicity and the lack of promoting Kelly and Def Jam have done to support the album. In fact, the label made the decision to not work the record anymore because of the allegations. First-week sales for the new album were about half of Kelly's last album, 2000's TP-2.com.
