MR GAINSBOURG REVISITED CD RELEASE PARTIES IN NYC, LA AND MIAMI (Aug 1st - Aug 8th)

LOS ANGELES (french-music.org) - When a tribute album was planned for the fifteenth anniversary of Gainsbourg's death, it was obvious that authorized English translations of many of the greatest of his songs would be needed to fully do justice to all the foreign groups and artists that could give new life to a repertoire so ingrained in French culture.
Invitations were sent out and the overwhelmingly positive responses returned like boomerangs. Everyone loves Gainsbourg, and the cast list speaks for itself – some of the most prominent British, French, Canadian and American artists of the last ten years are featured.

From Tricky to Franz Ferdinand, from Cat Power to The Rakes, from Placebo to Michael Stipe, from Portishead to Marianne Faithfull, from Jarvis Cocker to The Kills and, of course his old collaborators, Jane Birkin and Sly & Robbie.

Now, French Tuesdays, French Music Export Office, Agnes b, Verve Forecast and Timothe Verrecchia (one of the album's producers), are happy to invite you to celebrate the August 1 release of Monsieur Gainsbourg revisited and Monsieur Gainsbourg originals (VO) in three cities; Miami and New York City on August 1 and Los Angeles on August 8.
Come early, 7-9 pm for Monsieur Gainsbourg music, appetizers, champagne, cd sales, guest DJ's, industry and media party. Afterwards partake of the French Tuesdays ambiance until 1 am.
