New York, NY (DIAMOND & COMPANY) - New Orleans-based jazz ensemble Bleu Orleans, founded by producer, arranger, trumpeter and bandleader Edward Anderson (Treme Brass Band, Dr. Michael Whites Liberty Brass Band and with Kermit Ruffins, Jazz @ Lincoln Center) and co-founded by producer / songwriter (who has been recognized by New Orleans Magazine as 'The Best New Orleans Contemporary Pianists of 2002') DARRELL LAVIGNE (Herbie Hancock's Headhunters, Bill Summers, Bo Diddley), are master musicians in their own right, having performed with world-renowned artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Tori Amos, Aretha Franklin, Jimmy Smith, Harold Battiste, Herbie Hancock, and Brian McKnight. They have also appeared as members of the Ray Charles Septet in the Oscar-nominated feature film 'Ray,' starring Jamie Foxx.

As founding member Edward Anderson explains, 'Bleu Orleans is very eclectic, very rooted in the fundamental influences of contemporary jazz but we also feel free to borrow from the undeniable influences of Motown, hip-hop and world music influences on the 21st century music.'

Bleu Orleans will showcase their eclectic blend of contemporary and traditional sounds at the Jazz Bakery Friday, July 21st and Saturday, July 22nd with an All-Star lineup featuring Edward Anderson on trumpet, Darrell Lavigne on piano/keys, Aaron Fletcher on saxes and a special guest appearance by multi-Grammy award nominee and Emmy award winning producer and pianist Patrice Rushen.

The Jazz Bakery is located at 3225 Helms Avenue in Culver City. Show times for Bleu Orleans and Patrice Rushen are 8:00pm and 9:30pm. Tickets are $25. For tickets and general information, visit www.jazzbakery.com or contact the reservations line at 310-271-9039.
