Irene Farrera is a high caliber singer-songwriter from Venezuela that can be compared to the likes of World Music divas such as Susana Baca and Cesaria Evora who are well-known for uncovering their country's hidden treasures and rich cultures through their music. Farrera, along with her 7-piece Venezuela Viva ensemble, have come together to complete their fourth album, Serenata (Serenade), in stores now nationwide.

Serenata traverses the territory's diverse regional styles, weaving in four original Farrera songs along the way. The highly syncopated, flamenco-influenced joropos, driving fulia and gaita rhythms of the coastal regions, and unique native instrumentation create spellbinding and sublime musical experiences. In the title cut, Serenata, Irene transforms a danzn into a steamy bolero, a tribute to Venezuela's living tradition of a lover's serenade as the most romantic expression of love.
