Turner/ RAHM Nation Recordings/ www.rahmnation.org) - Hip-Hop scholar, emcee and producer Random, who dropped his album "The Call" in February on indie label RAHM Nation, featuring guest spots by Wordsworth, Reef The Lost Cauze and more, is releasing a mixtape tribute to the late great J Dilla, entitled "The Dilla Project."
The album features tracks with/by some of Hip-Hop's greatest underground talent, including J-Live, Immortal Technique, Trek Life, DJ Doo Wop, Philly's Adam 12 and more rhyming on Dilla's beats, plus candid words from some of Dilla's closest friends. Proceeds from the mixtape will benefit The J Dilla Foundation and Maureen Yancey's Ma Dukes Music imprint. The mixtape drops August 15. for more info hit up www.rahmnation.org or [email protected]

Dilla died on February 10, 2006 at his home in Los Angeles, California, three days after his thirty-second birthday and the release of Donuts. His obituary in The New York Times of February 14, 2006, states: "The cause was cardiac arrest, according to his mother, Maureen Yancey. She said he had been suffering from lupus and had recently been hospitalized for pneumonia."
The creation of the J Dilla Foundation was announced in May 2006.
