Pembrokeshire, Wales (Reggae Festival of Wales) - The 'Reggae Festival of Wales 2006' has been Re-scheduled* and will now take place in August 2006. The organizers have apologised for the inconvenience, stating that their decision is due to circumstances beyond their control and re-scheduling is the only way to preserve the future and integrity of the unique event. Founder Charles Brathwaite alludes to 4 years of Racial Abuse and continual moving of the 'Goal Posts' by the Authorities in Pembrokeshire in relation to holding the Reggae Festival of Wales', publishing an impassioned commentary on their web site, https://www.reggaewales.com. Ironically, this free roots reggae event is run on a minimal administration budget without any significant government funding to date, and is organized in celebration of the spirit of Bob Marley who died from cancer 25 years ago. Today, Bob Marley's name has become synonymous with the struggle for human rights and equality, worldwide. His wife, Rita Marley, a champion of human rights in her own name, is scheduled to appear at the Reggae Festival of Wales 2006, along with Marley's mother Cedella Booker and a host of other international and UK reggae artists. There are few reggae festivals with the scope of Reggae Festival of Wales in the UK. Undeterred, Brathwaite believes in the Reggae Wales membership and the supporters of reggae across the UK and plans to announce a new venue for the Reggae Festival of Wales 2006 shortly. There has been a steady stream of orders for tickets to the Reggae Festival of Wales, with entire families pre-booking their tickets in advance. Pre-booking tickets was an important feature of this year's free festival as the organization strove to honour its licencing commitments with Pembrokeshire. All tickets ordered are valid for the new date. Reggae Festival of Wales will publish details of the new location and exact dates over the next few days. For more information, the organizers invite ReggaeWales Members & Ticket holders to visit the web site, https://www.reggaefestivalofwales.org or https://www.reggaewales.com. The Reggae Festival of Wales is a nonprofit making organization committed to raising Cultural Awareness through Music and other Multicultural Activities.
