(Pamela Lipshitz/ JLM PR) - Russell Simmons is nothing if not the consummate promotion man with a cause. While at the Nasdaq MarketSite location in Times Square this morning to ring the opening bell in honor of Hip-Hop Summit Action Network's 5th anniversary and talk about its financial literacy program 'Get Your Money Right,' Russ also had another thing on his mind. During his one minute speech, as HSAN President/CEO Dr. Benjamin Chavis, HSAN board members Kevin Liles and Damon Dash, Chrysler Financial's William Jones and Diplomats' Jim Jones looked on, Simmons made his move. Whipping out a bottle of men's cologne, he crowed, 'The last time Puffy was at the Stock Exchange, he introduced his new fragrance. After that, it became the No 1 fragrance overnight. In September, we're coming out with Atman and we're giving 100% of the proceeds away to charity. We're starting with Alicia Keys 'Keep A Child Alive' program which brings medicine to young AIDS victims in Africa as well as donating to other charities. So Puff, this time, I'm hoping to follow you, brother!' At which point, he sprayed the Nasdaq podium and many of its startled participants, telling them, 'You've never smelled so good!'
