Kasey Chambers Announces 2006 National Tour

Sydney, AU (EMI MUSIC AUSTRALIA) - Kasey Chambers, Australia's multi ARIA Award winning, multi platinum selling singer/songwriter has unveiled details of her new album 'Carnival' out August 19th. The album will be preceded by first single 'Nothing At All', at radio today (from 8am) and released everywhere July 22nd.
In addition to this, Chambers will embark on an extensive Australian tour, her first in over two years.

The new album Carnival was recorded in just over a week with producer and brother Nash Chambers on NSW's Central Coast. Joining them were some hand picked special guests (many of whom had never worked with Kasey previously) including Midnight Oil's Jim Moginie, Bernard Fanning (Powderfinger), Tim Rogers (You Am I) and Michael Barker (John Butler Trio). It's this fresh approach and willingness to 'break the mould' that only serves to cement Chambers' position as an evolving, unique and dynamic Australian artist.

While the album has a distinctly contemporary edge that will surprise many, 'Carnival' still draws on all the trademark qualities that has made Kasey Chambers one of Australia's most loved and respected artists. The title of the album is lifted from one of the album tracks 'Colour Of The Carnival' and throughout the album, Chambers draws life comparisons to that of a simple carnival...exploring life, love, innocence, fun and loss all with a healthy shot of optimism.

To coincide with the release of the new single and album, Kasey Chambers will be hitting the road for a series of shows that will run through until the end of the year. Fans in WA will be the first to experience these gigs before the tour then goes to all states. In between these dates Kasey will also tour throughout the United States and possibly UK and Europe.

"I'm very excited to announce the dates for my 'Carnival Tour' - it's been over 2 years since we've headed out on a full national tour. So excited in fact, that I've already written out the set list and the first gig isn't for another 3 months. I'm particularly looking forward to playing a bunch of new songs from my new album as well as some really old ones that I haven't played for a very long time. I can't wait," said Kasey.
