Durham, NC (OMNIFIC MUSIC) - New gospel group, Clarkwise, consisting of four sisters from Greensboro, NC, was poised to release their long-awaited debut CD entitled 'Brand New' on the Omnific
Music Label. They had even recorded two music videos for the CD's title cut; the videos feature appearances by their
Music Consultant, Edwin Hawkins of 'Oh Happy Day' fame. Instead of proceeding with the CD release, they decided to put the project on hold in order to release the song 'Victory In The Storm' to assist with the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
'Everything changed after August 29, 2005, when Hurricane Katrina roared into town.' states Paul E. Irving, Omnific Music's president. 'We were all deeply moved by the devastation and human suffering caused by Hurricane Katrina. In an effort to assist with the relief effort, Omnific Music and Clarkwise decided to release the single 'Victory In The Storm' as a CD/DVD set, the proceeds from which will be used to assist with the Hurricanes Katrina/Rita Relief effort.'
'Members of the group Clarkwise were involved in two floods, one time as victims and the other time as disaster relief volunteers, so coming to the aid of those affected by this tragedy is a cause that hits home.' states Rochell C. Irving, the song's principle writer. 'Victory In The Storm' conveys messages of faith and hope for all, regardless of the personal storms that we may face in our lives.'
Evangelist Michael K. Storm of Storms of Deliverance Ministries, Myrtle Beach, SC states, "The Gospel music world better get ready for the harmonies, musical creativity, and ministry that can only be achieved when the foundation is family. These sisters… take the listener beyond the music, to the prophetic. Clarkwise not only sings the message, but also with their dedication to ministry and their benefit release on behalf of (Hurricanes) Katrina/Rita relief, they live it.' Evangelist Storm is also the host of the Praise 1200 AM Morning Show on WMIR, and the former announcer on WNAA 90.1 FM Greensboro, NC, WOKX High Point, NC, and the former Program Director and morning show host for WDVA, Danville, VA.
'Victory In The Storm' is the first single from Clarkwise's debut CD project entitled 'Brand New'. The project is produced by Denver A. Wright, producer for R&B-turned-Gospel crooner Tony Terry, Robert (Baabe) Irving III, former musical director and producer for Miles Davis, and Paul E.
