LISBON, Portugal (www.rockinrio-lisboa.sapo.pt) - ROCK IN RIO-LISBON, the biggest musical Festival in the World kicked off its first night with a sellout crowd of close to 90,000! The mega event being held in Lisbon, Portugal, for the second time, opened with a star studded concert featuring the music of D'Zrt, Ivete Sangalo, Jamiroquai and Latin sensation Shakira.

The City of Rock built in Bela Vista will shine once again tomorrow night with another day of music performances lead by Guns n' Roses that will be broadcasted live by AOL. The musical extravaganza takes place for two consecutive weekends May 26, 27, and June 2,3,4 at the City of Rock built in Bela Vista Park, Lisbon.

The opening ceremonies included 150 drums and percussion instruments displayed between the public and the stage, a medley of all time love songs in homage to all the generations gathered at the Rock in Rio-Lisbon Festival, and images that depicted a "positive world".

The event will be broadcast live through Network Live to close to 100 million people in 70 countries.

May 27th _ Guns n' Roses, The Darkness, Xutos & Pontapés and Pitty
June 2nd - Pink Floyd legend Roger Waters, Carlos Santana, Rui Veloso and Jota Quest
June 3rd _ Red Hot Chili Peppers, Da Weasel, Kasabian and Orishas
June 4th _ GNR, Sting, Anastacia, Corinne Bailey Rae and Marcelo D2
