Kylie, So Solid Crew and Sting to perform at Brits

LONDON, UK (Radio 1) - Controversial garage act So Solid Crew have been confirmed as one of the stars to perform at this year's Brit Awards. The band are up for three awards including, best British single for 21 Seconds.
However, they have been embroiled in controversy over their live acts and their last UK tour was cancelled after fears of possible violence at their gigs.

It followed a shooting at their 1 November gig last year at London's Astoria, where two men received gunshot wounds.
Cartoon band, Gorillaz, who top the Brits nominations list with six, are also performing. Damon Albarn's band will play their best selling single Clint Eastwood.

Kylie Minogue continues her resurgence and will take to the stage with an exclusive performance at the event at Earl's Court.
The Australian pop star hit the top of the charts last year with Can't Get You Out Of My Head. The singer, who is storming up the US singles chart, is nominated for four awards.

Dido will put the disappointment of being axed from the best newcomer award by performing on 20 February also.

Duet

The singer was dumped from the category after chart bosses admitted they had wrongly included her. She is still up for three awards, including best British female.

One of the star combinations on the night will feature Shaggy singing with comic Ali G. The duo will be performing their new single collaboration, O Me Julie, from Ali's upcoming movie.

Another combination performing at the Brits will be Jamiroquai's Jay Kay and US singer Anastacia.

American rockers The Strokes and UK garage stars Mis-Teeq are also lined up to play.

Sting, who will be given the outstanding contribution to music award, will play a montage of his songs.

TV presenters Zoe Ball and Frank Skinner are the hosts for the show.
