Daniel Link will be hosting the Java Jamboree at Borders Books and
Music 10225 Research every Friday night in April. Beginning at 7:00 PM,
Daniel will perform an acoustic set playing songs from his latest release "Color of Rain". Then, at 8:00 PM
Daniel will introduce his special guest to play the second set. These shows are free.
Here's who is scheduled to appear with Daniel at the Java Jamboree:
April 7: Joe McDermott. With his well crafted songs and charming delivery, Joe McDermott was a mainstay of the late 80's and early 90's Austin's rock scene. Leave the kids at home and come see a rare live performance of Joe's music for big people.
April 14: Troy Campbell. Those who've followed Troy Campbell through his evolution over the years, from the punk-wired Highwaymen, to Americana-drenched Loose Diamonds, and now three albums into a stellar solo career, have always known he's a restless soul. It's written in his songs, which flit between a jumpy, let's- blow-this-town urgency, and more sorrowful expressions of longing, hope, idealism. And it's there in his remarkable voice, a uniquely expressive instrument comfortable with everything from jagged murder ballads to four-on-the- floor Chuck Berry rockers to candlelit love songs. Troy will perform songs from his latest CD "Long in the Sun" at Borders.
April 21: Sara Hickman. Whether you've learned about Sara Hickman through her music, her family, her causes, or her films, you know that her originality, creativity, and enthusiasm bring a fresh meaning to the well-worn phrase "living life to the fullest." Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to see and hear a true Austin legend appearing with Daniel at Borders.
April 28: Chelle Murrey. The final night of Java Jamboree is family night, as Daniel welcomes his long time collaborator and friend Chelle Murrey. Chelle's musical spectrum might be defined by folk on one pole and country on the other, however, an array of subtleties mark the dynamic artist's range, distinguishing her as an astonishingly original singer/songwriter. Whether it's an introspective ballad providing a viewpoint into the artist's mind, a social commentary about people or an autobiographic narrative of a difficult breakup, a listener will find tenderness, intimacy, depth and quick wit in any of Chelle's songs.
