(Carnaval de Barranquilla Official Website) - Three of TropiSounds / Codiscos biggest artists were winners of the coveted Congo de Oro award, given annually to the best artists at the Barranquilla Carnaval at the Romelio Martinez Stadium.

After several years without visiting Barranquilla, Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz returned triumphantly by receiving the Congo de Oro in the salsa category. Their latest production 'Que vuelva la música gave them the award, and proves that they still have their salsa mojo.

Vallenato artist Peter Manjarres, known for his 'new wave' style, received the Congo de Oro for first place in the very competitive Vallenato category. 'mbatible' the latest production from Peter Manjarres has proven to be very successful with its fresh sound, revitalizing the vallenato genre in Colombia.

And finally, one of ther most awaited artistsat the carnival was Maelo Ruiz, one of Barranquilla's favorite artists, received the third prize Congo de Oro in the salsa category. He also received the gold album award in Colombia with his album Tiempos de Amor.
