Nashville, TN (Cal IV Entertainment) - Jim Collins has signed an exclusive writing agreement with Cal IV Entertainment, it was announced today by the publishing company's CEO Cal Turner and president Daniel Hill. Additionally, Cal IV has purchased Collins' Make Shift Music catalogue, which includes Kenny Chesney's seven week No 1 hit 'The Good Stuff,' Trace Adkins' 'Then They Do' and Tim McGraw's 'How Bad Do You Want It.'

"Jim Collins is one of the most prolific hit writers of today, and we are honored to have him join the Cal IV fold,' noted Hill. 'Our acquisition of Jim's Make Shift Music catalogue marks an important milestone for our growing catalogue of hit songs."
"Jim's experience will complement our already exceptional roster, giving us additional strength in a very competitive market,' Turner added.

Collins has been a successful and prolific songwriter since his move to Nashville from Houston, Texas in 1995. He immediately scored singles with Kenny Chesney ('She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy'), John Michael Montgomery ('Love Working On You') and Ty Herndon ('Hands of a Working Man'). The hits continued with the multi week No 1 'Yes,' recorded by Chad Brock, and Chesney's seven week No 1 'The Good Stuff.' In 2002, that song became Billboard's Country Song of the Year, ASCAP Song of the Year and the Academy of Country Music Single of the Year. Currently, Collins has cuts by Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Adkins, Joe Nichols, Jason Aldean and Little Big Town.
