Bronx, NY (VSHELL ENTERTAINMENT) - The influence of Latin music into mainstream music has been hard to ignore. In particular, the explosion of reggatone with artists such as Daddy Yankee and Don Omar are creating quite a buzz.

"Artists like Daddy Yankee and Don Omar have videos getting airplay on MTV, companies are licensing songs and images of artists to represent them in advertisements to connect with the youth, and the general buzz surrounding the music is growing more deafening by the day," said Amen from LatinRapper.com.

During the late 1990s, Latin music exploded into the mainstream thanks to artists like Ricky Martin with the popular, "Living la Vida Loca." Other artists include Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias.

Today, the influence of Latin music can be seen in a broad spectrum of sounds. From Rock en espanol (groups like Mana, Santana and artists like Shakira) to Latin hip-hop artists like Jennifer Lopez and Big Pun, to salsa and merengue crossover artists like Marc Anthony.

Vicky Shell is another artist that has been in the Latin music scene for many years and has been described by Metropolitan magazine as "the best Latin rhythmic contemporary sound of today."

According to Vicky, "Latin music is here to stay. I am proud to say that artists such as Daddy Yankee and Enrique Iglesia, although different sounds, are creating beautiful Latin influenced music."

To get a taste of traditional Latin sounds of Salsa and Merengue, Vicky Shell invites you to her website to not only listen to her two albums but to also download two free tracks.
