LONDON, UK (BBC/Radio1) - U2 frontman Bono has helped Scottish composer Craig Armstrong update a version of the Irish rock band's song "Stay (Faraway, So Close)," for Armstrong's next album, As If To Nothing, due April 2 from Melankolic/Astralwerks Records. Bono adds vocals to the track, the original of which appeared on U2's 1993 album, Zooropa.

The project reunites the duo--Armstrong also worked with U2 in the mid-'90s, adding strings to the songs, "Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me" and "Please." As If To Nothing also features contributions from the Lemonheads ' Evan Dando, Photek , and Mogwai .

Just this week, Armstrong earned a Golden Globe Award in the category of best original score music for his work on Moulin Rouge. He has also worked with Madonna , Hole , Bjork , the Spice Girls , and Tina Turner .
