NEW YORK (Yahoo) - Singer-actress Brandy hosted an exclusive listening showcase for her forthcoming third album, Full Moon, at New York's Man Ray on Tuesday night (January 15). The star, who is now a vegan, has experienced a spiritual transformation in the three years since her last release, and she described her time away in a statement: "In the past three years, I've focused on getting to know who I am inside. I took a break to reflect on myself as a person and I've grown a lot...I didn't know who I was because so many people had this idea and image of me that wasn't necessarily who I was. But I've experienced some things and I've learned some lessons, good and bad. I'm a woman now."

Full Moon, which is scheduled for release on March 5, was produced by Warren Campbell, Keith Crouch, Mike City, and Rodney Jerkins. The first single and video from the set, "What About Us?", has been receiving a positive response from radio and video outlets, a sign that Brandy's fans accept and welcome her transition to womanhood.

Brandy's self-titled 1994 debut album has been certified triple-platinum, while her sophomore offering, 1998's Never Say Never, has sold more than 5 million copies to date.
