NEW YORK (Rolling Stone) - Like a winter blizzard,
Creed are set to blow through arenas across the country. The first leg of the yearlong tour in support of their third album, Weathered - which has topped the nation's album chart in each of the seven weeks since its release - kicks off next Wednesday, January 16th, in Atlanta and finishes February 19th in Salt Lake City. Tantric will open.
Fans can expect a "full-on arena-rock show," according to
Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti. "We've got major pyro, a Roman Colosseum-style set design, video imagery and three catwalks into the audience."
The band will play a 100-minute set divided into three parts. "We open with the heavier stuff, move into the vibier material and then close out the show with the uplifting songs," Tremonti says.
The band is planning to segue from "Higher" into a cover, but Tremonti isn't saying what that song will be. "All I can say is, just think of the biggest arena-rock ballad ever," he teases. "If we do it, it will be unbelievable." Creed tour dates:
