Sydney, AU (Sony BMG Music Entertainment) - Fiona Apple finished off 2005 in complete style. Her new album "Extraordinary Machine" received a stack of accolades, and featured prominently in many publications" "Best Of" lists, including being named the No 1 Album of the Year in Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times and LA Times.

The long-awaited record has proved to be a hit with both critics and fans alike. Entertainment Weekly in the US said, "It's the most paradoxically uplifting music of the year," and featured it as their No 1 album of the year and No 1 Reader's Choice Best Album Of The Year.

Rolling Stone called it "a classic breakup record that maintains a deep emotional undertow without ever getting lost in misery," and had it listed as No 4 in their albums of 2005 list, while Blender and New York Magazine had it at No 2.

Fiona has even scored a Grammy nomination for "Extraordinary Machine" - it's up for Best Pop Vocal Album, which will see Fiona go head-to-head with Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, Sheryl Crow and Paul McCartney.
