Toronto, Canada (Cuban Music Productions) - Havana born, Toronto based guitarist, vocalist, composer and arranger Luis Mario Ochoa launches his new Latin Jazz recording entitled ‘Cimarrón: Luis Mario Ochoa & Friends'.

The CD, which Ochoa describes as "Cuban-Jazz fusion", features guest appearances from the legendary Paquito D"Rivera, to Canadian jazz luminaries such as Guido Basso and Hilario Duran, as well as the cream of Toronto's thriving Latin and jazz music scene.
Luis Mario: "I am fortunate to have such a wealth of talent and musicianship in my group. They are my friends and a source of motivation for me'.

"Cimarrón" has already been lauded by the influential www.Descarga.com website as "a fresh, up-tempo and high caliber Latin jazz release that provides a well conceived format for (Ochoa's) fine guitar work"; and by the prestigious Jazz-Blog www.Jazz-not-Jazz.com "If you're into Latin Jazz, this is a great worthwhile album'.

With a repertoire of material that include five original compositions, 4 classics from both the Cuban and North American Song Books and a dazzling samba by Paquito D"Rivera, all material on the CD arranged by Luis Mario. Each of the ten tracks on "Cimarrón" is a showcase for Luis Mario Ochoa's quest to combine the rhythms of his native Cuban music and its Caribbean and South American neighbors with the sophisticated harmonies in the jazz tradition.

Showcasing his considerable skills as a vocalist, composer, guitarist and arranger extraordinaire, Luis Mario Ochoa has recorded an album destined to receive many repeat plays from Latin Jazz lovers, Cuban music fans, and the international growing jazz audience.
