LOS ANGELES (DJ Vlad PR) - Following up his award-winning mixtapes "Biggie: Rap Phenomenon" (with Dirty Harry) and "2Pac: Rap Phenomenon 2" (with Dirty Harry and Green Lantern), DJ Vlad has teamed with DJ Roc Raida (Executioners) for his third mixtape installment to the "Phenomenon" series, but this time with a twist. They have employed Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, himself a noted producer, as host, and put together a blend of unlikely musical characters; fusing some of raps most noted lyricists over a collection of rock and heavy metal classic tracks.

Out this week, this mixtape was two years in the making and is bound to be talked about in mixtape circles for years to come. "I was under a lot of pressure to drop something that made the same type of impact that "2Pac: Rap Phenomenon 2" had made." Vlad says. "That tape is the biggest moving mixtape of all time and was also recently voted No 3 best hip-hop album of all time by Chris Rock for Rolling Stone. We felt like we had to switch up the game to keep up with the level of product that has made the "Phenomenon" series' name what it is." Vlad and Roc Raida felt this genre change was necessary to highlight how much influence Rock and Metal have had over the course of hip-hop's history and showcase how well the two genres actually blend together. The addition of Shinoda brings it all together very nicely and the cover is hand drawn by the legendary Skam (Eminem's first 2 album covers). This tape is sure not only to become an instant classic but its impact on the type of mixtapes dropping in 2006 should be noted. The bar has officially been raised. The rest can only play catch-up.
