LOS ANGELES (Rocketown Records) - The smooth R&B overtures of George Rowe on his 2004 release 'Think About That' deserve a better fate than the relative obscurity his career and record is languishing in. If you are a fan of quality R&B vocals with complimented by some excellent guitar and piano instrumentals then you should be listening to this CD. All you R&B connoisseurs out there should sidle up to your local Christian record store and wet your palate.

If bright red and yellow were the sound of rock music then Rowe would be painting in pastels of aqua, teal and dusty rose. Songs such as 'Swerve' and 'Say The Word' both co-written with Brian Steckler redefine the term silky smooth. Guitarist Danny Donelly provides an awesome presentation with his work on 'Swerve'. In fact Donelly shines throughout the album laying down some deep grooves.

The Gospel and choral influences of 'We Exalt You' provide a nice change of pace. Unfortunately the liner notes only hint at the talented female backup vocalist as being Angela M. The track ends with Rowe treating us to some luscious piano chords immersed in jazz.

The first four tracks on the album 'Think About That', 'Swerve', 'Everlasting' and 'Say the Word' find their origins in Scripture. So often we sing praise tunes in a more boisterous fashion and there is nothing at all wrong with that but it is nice to hear a song of praise such as 'Everlasting' sung in a gentler fashion with softer edges.

The strength of the album Think About That lies in its beautifully textured arrangements. Brian Steckler who also doubled as producer for this project did a masterful job.

Just a parting thought (wink) did I happen to say that Danny Donnelly is awesome on the guitar!
