NEW YORK (MTV2) - HelloGoodbye won the title of MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout Band of 2005 and joined previous alumni Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday and Hawthorne Heights. As the winners of MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout, HelloGoodbye won the ultimate promotional package which includes $9,000 worth of equipment from Gibson, a guest appearance on a future MTV2 program, a spot on a national US Festival, $10,000 in cash, access to an advisory board of industry experts that will help guide them through the beginning of their music careers. Hosted by MTV2 VJ Jim Shearer, Dew Circuit Breakout finalists HelloGoodbye, Pete Miser and Tub Ring battled it out at MTV2's studios in Times Square during the live finale. Each of the finalists was selected from a pool of over 170 bands by college radio station directions nationwide and survived intense semi-final competitions, including live performances and off-the-wall challenges. During the finale, each band performed a song from their current album plus a cover song assigned to them by New Found Glory band members Jordan Pundik and Chad Gilbert. The Dew Circuit Breakout winner was determined by a panel of music industry experts which included: Jordan Pundik and Chad Gilbert (New Found Glory), Marsha Vlasic, MVO (Booking Agent), Steve Gottlieb, TVT Records (President/Founder) and Kevin Morrow, House of Blues (Head of Talent/Tours). Viewers generated over 500,000 votes through MTV2.com, factoring into the decision to determine the winner. In addition, MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout Live Finale more than doubled the ratings from last year's finale telecast.
