New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Kröna is a dynamic punk-rock trio that fuses hardcore urgency and reggae grooves with a distinctive Caribbean flair.
Originally hailing from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and now based in Miami, Florida, Kröna brings an unmistakable island influence to their sound - one that sets them apart in the global punk landscape.
Formed in April 2024, Kröna unites longtime collaborators Cristóbal and JP - friends since high school who first cut their teeth in the fiercely independent DIY outfit ESPÉRICLES - with powerhouse drummer Chino (also of Zeta). After ESPÉRICLES went on hiatus, the duo teamed up with Chino through mutual friends in the Latin-American punk scene, and the chemistry was immediate.
Born from Santo Domingo's tight-knit DIY circuit, Kröna channels the spirit of resistance and cultural pride through electrifying performances and fiercely independent releases - driven by a shared history and a relentless desire to push Caribbean punk forward.
Fusing breakneck punk and hardcore with syncopated reggae grooves and Afro-Caribbean percussion, Kröna has carved out a sound that's both confrontational and celebratory. Their music pays homage to late-'70s hardcore while embracing the textures of the Dominican diaspora. They call it "dance-in-the-pit" music—fast, unfiltered, and defiantly alive.
Their latest single, "Take 'Em All," reflects that ethos.
"Take 'Em All is our answer to feeling boxed in by every rule and expectation... It's less about anger and more about finding strength together and insisting on our own voice, no matter what they say," explains Cristóbal.
The single appears on the band's debut LP, Dead Air Diaries, set for release November 22, 2025, on their own Merenpón Records imprint (vinyl & digital).
With Dead Air Diaries on the horizon, Kröna continues to expand their reach—touring relentlessly, producing community events, and amplifying Caribbean punk on a global scale. Fueled by a rebellious spirit and a relentless groove, they're not just making noise—they're building a movement.
Committed to uplifting emerging artists, Kröna produces Donde La Abuela Fest in Santo Domingo—one of the city's only DIY punk showcases. By securing a professional venue for up-and-coming bands, they open doors otherwise closed by limited local infrastructure. Past international guests have included Belvedere, Strung Out, Death By Stereo, Alphawhores, and others, making the fest a regional launchpad for underground talent.
