Divas of Jazz Event Raises Nearly $30,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition

EPHRATA, Pa. (Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition)- The Divas of Jazz lent their talent to raise nearly $30,000 for the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition through the third annual benefit, held at Christophers' Casual Dining on Lititz Pike, Lancaster, in October. The event included a buffet dinner, silent and live auctions, a raffle for diamond earrings valued at $2,500 donated by Vincent & Company, and the performances of six soulful divas.

At this year's event, the Divas introduced the Lola Thomas Living Life Award, which was created to honor a breast cancer survivor who is living life to the fullest, in memory of Lola Thomas, who owned and operated the Chestnut House crafts gallery with her husband Frank. The award was given to Cathy Kornfield, a member of the Divas of Jazz Steering Committee, in recognition of her life and accomplishments.

The divas who shared their talents were Amy Banks, Ruth Benns-Suter, Marion "CoCo" Coleman, Rose Hudson, Sonia V, and Robin Work.
