New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Decca Records US has announced the signing of symphonic pop composer Cody Fry, as he reveals his stunning orchestral reimagining of Coldplay's iconic hit "Fix You."
Supported by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (recorded at London's historic
Angel Studios), Cody's "
Fix You" is a sweeping, powerful take on the beloved track. Originally released as part of Coldplay's 2005 album X&Y, "
Fix You" is given a new dimension by Cody's signature pop orchestration, as the cover steadily builds with soaring brass, strings, and Cody's dynamic tenor vocals.
Commenting on the single, Cody says: "'Fix You' is one of those path-altering songs for me. I've always tried to make music that can affect emotions in a deep way, and this song has always done that for me. Every edge of the melody is sharpened to perfection. And like always, I thought to myself, 'What if we put orchestra on it?' and here we are!"
The cover's official score video further spotlights Cody's remarkable talent for orchestration, as he inserts candid, thoughtful notes on the sheet music for his arrangement.
Cody Fry, a self-proclaimed orchestra nerd, shot to viral stardom when his original song "I Hear A Symphony" went viral on Tik Tok in early 2021. The song's dramatic orchestral crescendo provided the perfect soundtrack to life's cinematic moments for fans the world over, and recently achieved gold single status in the USA.
Cody's orchestral version of The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," another viral hit on TikTok, received a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Arrangement, Instruments and Vocals.
In March 2023 he released Symphonic, a compilation of his most popular symphonic tracks, through Decca Records US.
