THE FLAIRS (www.theflairs.com) are a 21st century band ready to take the world by storm with their catchy, hook-laden punk tinged rock. Harkening back to the days of '80s pop-punk a la Joan Jett and Girlschool, THE FLAIRS are sweetly flavored with a lethal dose of 'tude. These three girls and a guy are ready to bring their youthful spirit and undeniable talent to the world. THE FLAIRS are preparing to release their debut American CD in early 2006. Their self-titled six-song EP, released in Canada in November 2004, was met with considerable attention and success. Their cover of Skid Row's '18 and Life' was featured on Vancouver's top rock radio station CFOX, and Much Music-TV picked up two videos, 'Ready to Roll' and 'Falling into Pieces,' airing both frequently in reaction to enthusiastic viewer response. The EP has since sold out completely. In concert, the band rip up the house with their original songs and include an updated interpretation of Billy Idol's classic 'Rebel Yell,' an audience favorite.
SUBMISSION (www.submissionmusic.com) is a astounding trio with rock sensibilities and a metal edge. Formed ten years ago when the musicians were just in sixth grade, Ryan, Warren and Kendall have developed a forceful sound and a no-holds-barred live show. Their single 'Transparency' was included on Music Centre Canada's 'Rock for the Cause' compilation and received airplay on Alberta's top rock radio station Rock 106. In turn, they were asked to play the 2003 Calgary Stampede alongside Sloan, Eve 6, and Cheap Trick. SUBMISSION will soon be whetting fans' appetites for more of their nail-you-to-the-wall yet spiritual sound. Their first full-length release Frontline (2003) brought initial attention to the band, living up to the liner notes credo of '...soul-food, not merely ear-candy.'
