 NEW YORK (AP) - Jay-Z Rapper Jay-Z was sentenced to three years probation in New York Criminal Court Thursday (Dec. 6) after pleading guilty to misdemeanor third-degree assault in connection with the stabbing of record executive Lance "Un" Rivera, according to a spokesperson for the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. The incident occurred at the Kit Kat Club in New York City in late 1999. Jay-Z turned himself in to police shortly after the stabbing of Rivera, the head of rap label Untertainment Music. The stabbing took place during a record release party for Q-Tip's Amplified album. The sentencing ends Jay-Z's legal woes for the year, as previous charges of illegal gun possession stemming from an April arrest�were dropped.
