 NEW YORK (AP) - U2 has finally confirmed that it will perform during the halftime special at the Super Bowl on Feb. 3 at the Louisiana Superdome on Nov. 19 that the band had signed on for the event. The band posted the announcement on its official Web site on Sunday (Dec. 2). The E*Trade Super Bowl XXXVI Halftime Show will air live on Fox. It was not determined at press time what song the band will play. Other acts are likely to be announced shortly as well. Last year's Super Bowl performances included Aerosmith with Britney Spears, Nsync, Nelly, and Mary J. Blige, among others.
