Allexa Bash is a singer-songwriter whose powerful vocals bring her emotionally-charged songwriting to life. She has been singing, writing and performing for a decade and will soon release her debut album Dark Angels. Ukraine-born but now based in Dubai, her soulful music has been played across her new home in the
Middle East including on Virgin Lebanon, Flouka
Radio Paris and Dubai Eye. A brilliantly versatile musician able to cover pop, rock and jazz. Allexas interest in music began when she was just four. She would use a fake mic from her grandmother as if it were real before she progressed to writing her own lyrics.
Her passion for music, supported by her father, continued as she enrolled in music school and studied for six years. Learning classical compositions including Beethoven, Bach and Rachmaninov, where she finished a year ahead of schedule. However, when her father passed away when she was just 14, her mother wanted her to focus on a career that could help them remain financially stable. The sudden loss was helped by listening to jazz and soul music, with
Ella Fitzgerald and
Diana Krall helping Allexa realise the power of the voice, as well as her own voice. Soon after, despite the desire she felt to create her own music, she paused her dream and helped support her Mum by enrolling at University and studying finance and banking, but her passion never wavering was sparked when she overheard a University club rehearse. She self-taught herself vocal techniques and entered several competitions with some amazing audience feedback. Her biggest competition was to come as she took part in Season 1 of The Voice Ukraine just for the fun of it, singing "
I Will Survive" which got an amazing crowd reception. Using vocal techniques from coaches who helped
Michael Jackson she set her sights on moving to Dubai as a singer which she duly did. And her music dream came true in 2021 with the release of her debut album Dark Angels which covers songs about life, love and her dual roles as a performer and a woman. The powerful, original album cleverly weaves a narrative about Allexa's journey and her identity in the world.
