LOS ANGELES (LA Times) - After a five-year hiatus, the powers that be in the Lollapalooza camp are trying to bring back the festival next summer, reports the Los Angeles Times. Though no bands have been announced, the names being bandied about include Staind, Incubus, and the new, not-yet-named Chris Cornell and 3/4 of Rage Against the Machine group. Lollapalooza, a partnership between the William Morris Agency, Perry Farrell, and manager Ted Gardner, debuted in 1991 with a lineup that featured Nine Inch Nails, Jane's Addiction, Ice-T's Body Count, Butthole Surfers, Living Colour, Siouxie and the Banshees, and others. The last Lollapalooza was held in 1997 with Korn, Tool, Snoop Dogg, Tricky, James, Porno for Pyros, and others. Attempts were made to bring back the tour in '98 and '99, but due to mounting costs they never came to fruition.
