 AUSTIN, TX. (Music City News Media) - The release of TEN IN TEXAS (XIT) from Icehouse Music keeps Texas tradition alive! XIT features songs penned and performed by Texans from days gone by with the sounds of today's most prominent up-and-coming Texas singers and Lone Star music lovers celebrated the release in large Texas style! The album release party was held on Thursday evening, September 1 at Threadgill's World Headquarters with the Austin City skyline in the background. More than 300 attendees were entertained that evening by artists who recorded on the XIT album. Dale Watson made a special appearance to play a 30-minute set. Ruthie FosterRay Benson, who is producer of the TEN IN TEXAS project acted as Master of Ceremonies. Benson also sang several Asleep at the Wheel hits including "The Other Woman" which appears on the XIT record. Other artists who joined in the celebration were: Carolyn Wonderland who showcased her bluesy version of "Honky Tonk Heroes,' Elizabeth McQueen appeared as a guest to sing some tunes with the Wheel, and Gary P. Nunn performed in a 30-minute set. Joe Ely closed out the evening with encores. TEN IN TEXAS (produced by Ray Benson with personal contribution by Lloyd Maines) is filled with Lone Star hit makers.
