Lake Street Dive's Mike Calabrese And Akie Bermiss Talk With 'The Show On The Road'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lake Street Dive's Mike Calabrese and Akie Bermiss are on the latest episode of the podcast The Show on the Road to chat with host Z. Lupetin of Dustbowl Revival.
"There are very few things in life that you can depend on," says Lupetin, "and yet since 2004, when they were founded by luminous singer Rachael Price, upright bassist-singer-songwriter Bridget Kearney, high-energy drummer Mike Calabrese, and the recently departed guitarist-trumpeter Mike 'McDuck' Olsen at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, the group has consistently put out virtuosic, heartfelt, harmony-laden, decadently delicious, nerdy dance music that, honestly, only got more beautiful and kinetic when they added keyboardist Akie Bermiss in 2017."

Lupetin goes on to say: "After a year and a half of doomscrolling and fearing for the worst, what I like most about this new record, Obviously, is how sexy it is ... If you have an hour to spare, slip into something comfortable, light some incense, pour yourself a cold cocktail, and put on Lake Street Dive's Obviously, and let the magic happen."
