NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - VP/Atlantic Records has revealed the first details of the eagerly anticipated new album from dancehall reggae superstar Sean Paul. Entitled "THE TRINITY," it is slated to be in stores on September 27th. The album will be heralded by the release of the single, "We Be Burnin'," which impacts at multiple radio formats on August 22nd. The track's companion video, directed by Jessy Terrero (50 Cent, Young Jeezy, Chingy), will premiere on BET's "Access Granted" on Wednesday, August 17th, followed by its online premiere on MTV.com on August 18th.

On "THE TRINITY," Sean Paul delivers more of his groundbreaking, signature blend of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop. Recorded entirely in Jamaica, the album finds Sean working with the hottest producers on the island's dancehall circuit, including Steven "Lenky" Marsden, Don Corleone, Renaissance Crew, Snowcone, and others. As for the title, Sean notes that this is his third album, which has been three years in the making, and which was "all done right here in the Third World."

With the release of his landmark debut VP/Atlantic album, "DUTTY ROCK," in November 2002, Sean Paul spurred a musical transformation, bringing authentic Jamaican dancehall reggae from an underground phenomenon fully into the mainstream of popular music around the globe. As Sean rhymes on the new album, "We flip the switch and the game just change."

Certified RIAA double platinum in the U.S., "DUTTY ROCK" has gone on to sell nearly six million copies worldwide. It hit the top ten on the Billboard 200, the top five on Billboard's "Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums" chart, and spent a remarkable 75 weeks in the No 1 spot on Billboard's "Top Reggae Albums" chart.

"DUTTY ROCK" spawned a string of smash singles, including "Gimme The Light," "Get Busy," "Like Glue," and "I'm Still In Love With You" (with Sasha). "Get Busy" became the first reggae single to take the No 1 spot across the board on Billboard's "Hot 100," "Hot 100 Airplay," and "Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles" charts, plus the national Rhythmic Top 40, CHR/Rhythmic, Urban, and Rap radio listings. In addition, Sean's smash duet with Beyonce', "Baby Boy," (which was added to later pressings of "DUTTY ROCK") hit No 1 on both the pop and R&B charts.

In the wake of the breakthrough success of "DUTTY ROCK," Sean racked up numerous prestigious awards, including the Grammy for Best Reggae Album - redefining the category in the process - along with nominations in the Best Male Rap Solo Performance and Best New Artist categories. He won MTV Europe's Best New Artist Award, while earning MTV Video Music Award and American Music Award nominations. He has gathered multiple ASCAP/PRS awards in pop, R&B, hip-hop, rap, and reggae categories; topped Billboard's year-end charts; and earned Source, MOBO, Juno, Much Music, and International Reggae and World Music awards.

Truly a worldwide superstar, Sean Paul has toured the world - from Austria to Australia, Kingston to Kenya, Lagos to Los Angeles - performing hits from both "DUTTY ROCK" and his first album, "STAGE ONE."
