New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer/songwriter, entrepreneur, educator and best-selling author Ari Herstand announces his new album 'Like Home,' slated for release on April 9th. The six-song collection is a soul-bearing autobiography that tells the tale of navigating one's way through heartbreak. Out today is the first single "Like Home," a gentle requiem which sets the tone for the rest of Herstand's story.

"Like Home" narrates the first step of recovering from a great love. Despite guilt-laden lyrics that allude to seeing new people, the guitars and organ cheerfully hum and amplify Herstand's message: "Just trying to move on / She feels like hope / But you feel like home." The track welcomes change with open arms and allows listeners to look forward to happier days.

Throughout the album, Herstand explores the idea of what "home" means and where to find it once the concept has been shattered. After his 11 year relationship came to an end, Herstand, who is best known for teaching independent artists how to succeed in the music business through his blog Ari's Take (and the subsequent book and podcast series), threw himself into his first love: songwriting. As a way to reorient and reclaim himself, Herstand spent over a year creating 40 songs to help him through his inner turmoil. The end product is a masterful collection of works produced by Justin Glasco (The Lone Bellow, Andrew Bird, Cary Brothers) that introduces fans old and new to a deeper side of the music industry figurehead.

Described by Forbes as "the poster child of DIY music," the LA-via-Minneapolis Ari Herstand is an entrepreneur, musician, best-selling author, educator, advocate and authority on how to succeed as an independent musician. He has collaborated with acts like Cake, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Ben Folds, and his music has appeared in TV shows, commercials and films. His book How To Make It in the New Music Business is a #1 best-seller in three categories on Amazon and taught by over 300 universities across the country. Recently, Ari co-founded the UnCancelled Music Festival, which Rolling Stone called "the most recent — and one of the larger — of the online music events that have sparked up since COVID-19 put a temporary hold on the live music industry," as well as advocacy group Independent Music Professionals United (IMPU), where Ari helped write and pass the amendment to get the music industry an exemption under the "gig worker" law AB5. At the helm of his blog Ari's Take, Ari empowers musicians through the Ari's Take Academy online music business school and the New Music Business podcast. He also hosts a weekly music industry forum on Clubhouse on Monday nights.
