LOS ANGELES (Def Press) - Third Degree on Blak Ice Records is among the artists slated for the line-up of the 'Westcoast Takeover,' masterminded by DJ Hideo, the revered Mix Show Director at Los Angeles radio station KKBT FM (The Beat), and his partner, the honorable Catdogg, who says his contribution is co-hosting this upcoming mix CD, as well as 'riding shotgun and giving direction.'
DJ Hideo is heard as the mix DJ on this major market radio station at 100.3 FM on 'Friday Night Beat Down,' 'Saturday Night Live,' and on the famed 'John Salley Block Party' Morning Show.
'Westcoast Takeover' will be released in the States in late August as a Japanese import. In addition to Third Degree, it will include tracks from other such luminaries as The Game, Kurupt, DJ Quik and Dub C of Westside Connection. Hideo states, 'This is my way of showcasing West Coast music to Japanese fans, and letting them know what is hot on the West Coast.' He adds, 'It is a great way to help showcase West Coast artists, both established artists and new artists, as well.' For those who are not yet familiar with Third Degree, Hideo notes, 'Third is an up and coming California artist. Don't sleep on Third. He has a whole lot of potential.'
Third's single, 'Do My Thang,' featuring E-40, is a hot commodity on the mix disc. Third Degree's debut album, 'The Pedestrian' is slated for release on August 16.
