 NEW YORK (AP) - Originally conceived as a studio project, fans of jazz trio the Philadelphia Experiment - side-project of Roots member ?uestlove (Ahmir Thompson) - will perform three one-off live dates. The group has lined up shows in Falls Church, Va. (near Washington, D.C.), Philadelphia, and New York City for Dec. 14, 15, and 16, respectively. The shows are possibly the only live appearances the group will ever make, according to a rep for the group. In addition to ?uestlove, the Philadelphia Experiment includes Christian McBride and Uri Caine. Pat Martino, a guest on the group's self-titled Atlantic/Ropeadope Records release, will join the trio for the dates. DJ-producer King Britt, who is working on a remix project with the group, will spin between sets at all three shows.
