New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Angie McMahon has shared two new offerings from her upcoming (October 2 / Dualtone Records) - a stunning reimagining of her original song "Soon" and a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The River." With "Soon," McMahon has shared a visual that juxtaposes her breakthrough 2019 (including footage from her massive US tour with Hozier) against the distinctly different realities of life in 2020.

In a feature around the release of these two new songs, Consequence of Sound has noted "McMahon's ability to inject whatever she's singing with vibrating pathos allows her to take ownership" of her cover of "The River." McMahon says, "this is a cover of one of my favourite Bruce Springsteen songs, I love the way he can tell a story as a writer, and I grew up listening to his music. I was going to learn the harmonica for this one, but I ran out of time, so I turned his harmonica solo into a whistle one. Sorry Dad.

Limited edition vinyl and CDs are available at dualtonestore.com.

The seven-song Piano Salt features fresh versions of five fan favorites from McMahon's lauded 2019 debut album Salt as well as "The River" and a cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die." Upon its release, Salt was hailed as "a perfect showcase of her gifts as a songwriter and vocalist" by The FADER and "recommended if you like Fiona Apple and St. Vincent" by NPR Music. The album's release marked a true breakout moment for McMahon in the US, who won the Grulke Prize for Best Developing International Act at SXSW (previously won by Courtney Barnett, CHVRCHES and Jade Bird), made her debut at the Newport Folk Festival and toured the country with Hozier.

A live performance of each song from Piano Salt will air virtually on October 7 with support from Los Angeles musician Jensen McRae. For more information visit: https://shops.ticketmasterpartners.com/angiemcmahon-jensenmcrae
