New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On May 13, Brasstracks release "Change For Me," a soul earworm featuring the slick wordplay of Samm Henshaw that aims to make you smile. Brasstracks (multi-instrumentalist Ivan Jackson and percussionist Conor Rayne) have once again brought out their horns and grooves that you might have heard on their collaborations with Mark Ronson, Chance The Rapper, Harry Styles, Anderson .Paak, and more. In the song's accompanying music video, filmed before lockdown, Jackson, Rayne, and Henshaw explore the various neighborhoods, parks, and landmarks throughout NYC with a retro and kinetic filter, celebrating the city (including Times Square) and its people with uplifting brass and positive lyrics; it's homespun intimacy with big-band maximalism. Today, the video takes on new meaning, yet its joyful view of NYC and its possibilities remain true.

"Change For Me" was crafted over sessions in NYC (Flux Studios), LA (East West Studios' Room Three, where Pet Sounds was recorded), and London (Assault and Battery Studios). Though the sounds are positives, the band doesn't shy away from asking less-sunny questions in its lyrics.

"The lyrics on 'Change For Me' came from a conversation about complacency between us and Samm," says the band. "We landed on this tongue in cheek concept of running out of reasons to change for yourself, which felt applicable to both of our situations at the time. So many people, so many opinions, so little time but also too much time to care. The song is so positive in energy that we enjoyed moving with this lyrical direction on top."

Today, Brasstracks also announces new episodes of "Band Class," a video series in which Jackson and Rayne take viewers behind the scenes of how they write, perform, and record music - featuring songs that they write on the spot. The original "Band Class" videos were made five years ago, and now the series is upgraded and filmed in New York's Flux Studios, where "Change For Me" was recorded. The duo also has launched a Go Fund Me to support its tour crew during lockdown.
More Brasstracks will be coming soon, including a new LP that'll feature "Change For Me." Stay tuned.

Both producers and lifelong musicians, Jackson and Rayne met while studying jazz at the Manhattan School of Music and immediately bonded over their shared sensibilities, as well as a mutual aversion to conservatory life. Since forming in 2014, they have brought their free-flowing musicality to such endeavors as collaborating with Mark Ronson and producing Chance the Rapper's 2016 hit "No Problem" ft. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz, which earned them a GRAMMY for Best Rap Performance. They've also collaborated with Harry Styles, Anderson .Paak, GoldLink, Khalid, Wyclef Jean and more, and they've performed on Saturday Night Live alongside Mark Ronson and Miley Cyrus. Their official releases include their 2016 debut EP, Good Love, and 2018's For Those Who Know. Proving the power of their DIY ethos, the duo also completed eight tours and took the stage at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre four times before landing their deal with EQT/Capitol Records.
