BURBANK, CA. (Hollywood Records) - Hollywood Records band's "
We Are Not Alone" produces two No 1 Active Rock hits in "Sooner or Later" and "So Cold," with new version of "Rain (2005)" going to radio next, summer tour with
3 Doors Down and
Staind on tap.
Hollywood Records rock band Breaking Benjamin's name is an apt description of their ongoing success.
Thanks to a pair of No 1 Active Rock tracks in "Sooner or Later" and "So Cold," the group's sophomore album, "We Are Not Alone," has shipped more than 1 million units since its release last June 29, which makes it eligible for platinum certification by the RIAA. The album has scanned more than 900k units in less than a year.
The group's next single, "Rain (2005)," is a new version of the album track by the record's producer David Bendeth (Vertical Horizon). This new take will be added to the next production run of "We Are Not Alone" and will ship to Modern and Active Rock radio on June 9 for a June 20 add date.
Breaking Benjamin recently performed a live acoustic version of "Rain" on Sessions@AOL and contributed a brand-new song, "Blow Me Away," to the best-selling video game Halo 2 and its soundtrack. The group has also recorded "Who Wants to Live Forever" for the forthcoming Queen Tribute album, a version of the song first performed by Queen for the film "Highlander."
"We Are Not Alone" was marked by the collaboration on three songs of Breaking Benjamin singer/songwriter Ben Burnley and Smashing Pumpkins founder Billy Corgan. Over the past year, Breaking Benjamin has toured non-stop with the likes of Korn, Evanescence, Saliva, Staind, Godsmack, Alter Bridge and Fuel. The band launches its summer tour with 3 Doors Down and Staind June 30 at Manchester, NH's Verizon Wireless Arena, a jaunt that will take the group through Sept. 10 at Atlanta's Hi Fi Buys Amphitheatre.
Breaking Benjamin was formed in 2002 when guitarist Aaron Fink and bassist Mark James Klepaski left their group Lifer to join fellow Wilkes-Barre, PA, natives Burnley and drummer Jeremy Hummel in the band. The group released its Hollywood Records debut, "Saturate," later that same year.
