Rumsfield are from Oshawa, Ontario, influenced by Metal/Hard Rock/Punk and everything else. They push themselves to the edge at all of their live shows, combining technique and ferocity.

Rumsfield released their debut album in July of 2000 entitled Violent Mood Swings. The album was released independently and available at all HMV retail stores across Canada. Violent Mood Swings was HMV's highest selling independent album in 2001.

The debut single from Violent Mood Swings entitled This Fix was released and a video was filmed at BlackWalk Studios in Toronto. The video was released to MuchMusic, YTV, and Edge TV in December of 2000. The video was on regular rotation on MuchLoud, YTV's Chart Attack and Edge TV.

Countless numbers of live shows were played in support of Violent Mood Swings (2001-2002) which featured shows through out Ontario and Quebec. In late 2002, Rumsfield began work on their sophomore album Terrible Times. The album was recorded at Chalet Studios (RUSH) and was mastered by Howie Weinberg (Slayer, Mudvayne) @ Masterdisk, NYC and released in 2004.

Rumsfield released of Terrible Times and a new video for the debut single 'Blister', which has been featured on MuchMusic, MuchLoud, UMTV, MTV2, MTV Germany and Australia.

Rumsfield is also the 2004 Hard Rock/Metal Finalists in the Independent Music Awards (alongside Orgy and Lacuna Coil).

With an expanding fan base and a brand new album, Rumsfield plan on moving to the next level. They're here to destroy.
