Listen Up! The Greek Electronic-Classical Composer Who Never Learnt To Read Music
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Apostolos Angelis has learnt what he calls the 'universal language' of music through the most organic way possible: listening. Ever since he dusted off the old vinyl and cassettes that he found in his childhood home, Apostolos has found himself inspired by the classical composers and the treasured electronic tracks of the 70s and 80s. Apostolos' raw passion for music has helped him to evolve into a prolific autodidact composer, creating ethereal Electronic-Classical-Orchestral music within his mind and not needing to learn music notation to successfully express his deepest emotions.

For his fifth studio album Coloring of Life, Apostolos returned from London to the haunting Grecian landscapes where he grew up to create, orchestrate and produce this latest electronic-classical opus with his own record label, Apoapsis Records. These 2 tracks offer a glimpse into an album where each piece is richly layered with analogue synthesisers and orchestral sounds, strings, pianos, percussion, drum rhythms and sensational choirs. Such varied elements brought together to create rich harmonies may come directly from his classical influence and the rare, baroque compositional technique of 'counterpoint'; melodies exist independently, yet interact with each other to create a powerful, 3-dimensional feel.
With the view from his studio welcoming wonders such as the suspended 'Meteora' geological formations, it's no surprise that Apostolos' mind couldn't help but generate 16 atmospheric tracks of dazzling sounds and emotions. Remarkably, the album's lead track Shapes and Shadows was recorded with classical violinist, Emile Junge, in just one take.

Apostolos has worked with a couple of well-known engineers such as Grammy award winner engineer Ray Staff for years on many of his projects. Despite making such important music beside renowned individuals, for a decade Apostolos has never promoted his albums. Apostolos is a private, low-profile artist who chooses to focus his talent on composition and production rather than social media, and it has paid off. These tracks are just a snippet of the music that the artist has been creating and such gems are still waiting to be discovered by the public.
