WAITSFIELD, VT. (indie911.com) - Independent musical group Grace Potter & The Nocturnals is getting used to overflow crowds in the northeast, having recently sold out several high-profile venues such as Higher Ground in Burlington, Vermont and Joe's Pub in New York City.

Without a record label the word is quickly spreading about Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, a Vermont-based band who is packing major venues and selling significant amounts of records with their infectious sound, persona, and story. Their new album, "Nothing But the Water," is a creative blend of roots, funky blues, gospel, and rock, which conjures up a nostalgic sound most likely found in a record collection from the sixties and early seventies.
Leading this charge is twenty-one-year-old Grace Potter whose vocal ability has drawn comparisons to legends like Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, and Janis Joplin. Her unique style behind the Hammond B-3 and piano is captivating audiences across the country. Joining Potter is a highly talented band who showcases incredible musicianship and dynamics.
Currently they are touring in promotion of "Nothing But the Water," their powerful sophomore album filled with soul-charged roots, blues, and rock. The band is managed by Justin Goldberg of indie911.com and booked by Hank Sacks of the Monterey Peninsula/Paradigm Agency.
