New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, sees platinum selling singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding release the video for her recent cover of Joni Mitchell's "River". The single, released exclusively on Amazon Music has rapidly climbed up the charts - currently sitting at #3 in the Amazon Music Top 50 with a new addition to the Radio 1 'Sleigh List'.

Directed by David Soutar, produced by Fulwell and shot on the UK's coastline near Dungeness, the festive video takes inspiration from Ellie's philanthropy work as a UN Global Ambassador - highlighting the climate crisis and the excessive use and disposal of single use plastic. The video culminates in Ellie and friends joining together to make an zero-waste Christmas tree constructed from salvaged beach litter and recycled objects. The finished tree will be donated to The Village Prep School in North London for the Christmas season, before being deconstructed and re-used in future.

Speaking about River and making the video, Ellie explains "I have always loved Joni Mitchell she was one of the first female artists that made me want to be a singer. She is one of the greatest songwriters of all time and I just truly hope that I have done this song some justice," stated Ellie Goulding. "Shooting the video in Dungeness was beautiful but a timely reminder of how our precious coastline is under attack, including from plastic waste. Plastic stuff is everywhere at this time of year and as a material that lasts hundreds of years, we need to have a plan for it. We wanted to show something different and to incorporate a different type of Christmas message whilst creating something reusable and beautiful - I'm so happy that it will live on at the Village Prep School, hopefully visiting many more schools to come.'
