
HOUSTON,
TX. (US Indie Expo) - The 2005 US Indie Band & Film Expo will take
place in Beaumont,
Texas from August 19-23, 2005. The five-day event
will take place at the Fairpark Coliseum and Fairground, and nearby
facilities and venues. More than 500 independent bands and filmmakers
from the United States and Canada have agreed to participate in what is
expected to become the premier showcase for unsigned acts of all
genres. Adding to the excitement,
National Headliner Acts will perform
each evening at the US Indie Expo.
Nearly 25,000 people from
South East
Texas and beyond are projected to attend the debut of the US
Indie Expo, which is expected to become one of the entertainment
industry's most prestigious annual events.
Independent bands
will be performing on the four outdoor music stages running
continuously from 11:00 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Independent filmmakers will
showing their projects in film, video, and animation on a large screen.
National Headliner Acts scheduled to appear at the US Indie
Expo are: Friday, August 19: VH1 Classic and Cathouse Records present
the "Rock Never Stops Tour" starring Cinderella, Ratt, Quiet Riot, and
Firehouse; Saturday, August 20: Steven Adler (of Guns N Roses), Gilby
Clarke (of Guns N Roses), Element 80,
Kevin Watts & the Hi Watts,
and Skid Row; Sunday, August 21: Andrew Cormier & Dallas Roy and
the Cajun Legends, Kyle Jennings, the Bellamy Brothers, and Little
Texas; Monday, August 22: The Dickies, Marky Ramone (of the Ramones),
and the Misfits (original band members); Tuesday, August 23: TBA.

During the
afternoon of Saturday, August 20, designer Tracy Robertson of
Houston-based Azrael's Accomplish Designs (www.azacdesigns.com), will
host a fashion show at the US Indie Expo featuring Azrael's collection
of unique and alternative fashions. Among the model's appearing on the
catwalk will be heavy metal goddess, Mayelin, of the band
Black Zodiac.
Hundreds of exhibitors will be at the US Indie Expo promoting
their goods or services, selling merchandise, meet-and-greets, etc.
Additionally, among those in attendance will be distributors,
publishers, agents, managers, publicists, promoters, and record labels
looking to sign new acts. The US Indie Expo will also feature a "Don't
Quit Your Day Job" job fair (Saturday through Monday), and
entertainment industry Q&A panel sessions (Saturday through
Tuesday).
