Alice Cooper has joined with Pass It On, a new 501(c)(3) online charity auction site (www.passitonline.org), to sell more than 150 items, many autographed items, including stage clothes, golf equipment, shoes, sunglasses, hats and historic memorabilia from decades of touring and golfing in celebrity tournaments.
Alice Cooper stand at the entrance to Alice's 'snake pit.'Proceeds from the "Alice Cooper Auction" will benefit The Solid Rock Foundation (www.srfrock.org), a charity whose mission is to provide assistance, financial and otherwise, to teenagers and children in the community.
A series of five-day auctions began May 1, and continue through June. The "Rick Schroder Auction" follows this summer, and PIO is working with other celebrities to arrange similar sales each month.
"Every celebrity I know has too many clothes, so why not sign 'em and pass it on," Cooper said. "Everybody wins."
PIO offers a different philosophy toward Internet auctions by selling normal to odd items from the "closets" of sports and entertainment celebrities. Celebrities profile and raise money for their charity of choice. Fans obtain quality items from their favorite athletes, actors and performers, perhaps gaining some insight into the stars' private lives. Proceeds benefit those in need through a variety of non-profit organizations, each verified by a vetting process.
Pass It On also profiles a "Celebrity of the Month" via the "Inside the Closet of..." feature interview. This offers a sneak peak into a star's home or office, and provides a venue to explain their passion for a project or organization. Cooper's feature posts in early May.
"At Pass It On, we believe that when you pass on to others kindness, love and generosity, the universe conspires to bless you in return, thus completing the cycle of blessing," said president and CEO Stefanie Beeth. "Our mission is simple. We are called to help bring this blessing cycle to others by uniting celebrities, communities, and charities together, and focusing all of our efforts on supporting worthy causes."
