LOS ANGELES (Shelly Fairchild Official Website) - Red hot country newcomer Shelly Fairchild is only a day away from the release of her debut Columbia album Ride on May 3. And she's already catching the eye of major national media outlets.

During street week, Shelly will be featured on CNN, Extra and CMT, with significant stories or reviews landing in the Dallas Morning News, People, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and the Associated Press. Look for an AP feature on Shelly soon, as well. And be sure to tune in for Late Show with David Letterman on May 17, as Shelly makes her first appearance on the program.

A week after the release, Shelly's friends and family in Clinton, Mississippi will throw her a homecoming of celebration. The private, invite-only party will take place at a friend of the family's home, close to where she grew up. The town is immortalized in her current single, "Tiny Town," where Shelly Sings, "my heart's still there even though I'm gone, I've put my roots deep in the ground of that tiny town."

Fairchild, whose flame-throwing vocals bear the unmistakable flavor of her Mississippi Delta upbringing, is also making inroads with country fans coast to coast. She's touring as part of Rascal Flatts' standing room only "Here's To You" Tour, which resumes May 20. (See below for tour itinerary.)

The critical buzz on Shelly has been building for some time, as she's already been featured in the April/May American Songwriter, May's Redbook and the March/April issue of Harp. This exposure follows already remarkable media coverage for a new artist including a photo layout in FHM, a feature story in Country Music Today magazine, and two features in Country Weekly.
