NASHVILLE, TN. (Mark Chesnutt Official Website) - Mark Chesnutt appeared at the Great American Country studios in Nashville last Friday to deliver the first edit of his new music video—'A Hard Secret To Keep.' In a circumstance almost never heard of, viewers were afforded the opportunity to watch the first edit of a music video. Chesnutt taped Great American Country's CRL with Suzanne Alexander who introduced the initial version to the GAC audience. 'Most folks don't realize that what they see as the final music video is not always the way it starts out,' explains Mark. 'We filmed and recorded a live acoustic performance of the single ‘A Hard Secret To Keep' and it came out great! Or so we thought. The audio and visual was all good but, there was a minor error in production precaution that we discovered after it was all said and done.' GAC aired the first version of Mark's music video 'A Hard Secret To Keep' on Monday, April 25 (5:00pm, 8:00pm and 11:00pm). CRL Host Suzanne Alexander opened up a contest to viewers to see if they could detect something unusual in the first edit. Chesnutt fans didn't miss a thing! The winners of the contest (Donna from Jacksonville, Florida and William of New Wilmington, PA) detected an item at the 'Wrong Place, Wrong Time'-an obvious change in the microphone. During the first part of the video, Mark performs the song behind a microphone with a wind screen. At the close of the video, the wind screen disappears. '…And that's why we're going back in to revise the music video,' says Mark, 'plus we're planning to make some other artistic upgrades to make it more movie-like.' The video 'A Hard Secret To Keep' in it's final edit will be released in mid-May and will feature a live acoustic audio track as performed and recorded by Mark's band. This will be Mark's first music video since 2002.
