The UK's 'The Magic E's' Releases New Album "Dead Star" On September 6, 2019
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 'Dead Star', the new album from The Magic E's, was recorded over an 11 month period which started in August 2018. It showcases 10 brand new tracks from the band and is their follow up to their critically-acclaimed 2017 debut album 'It Goes On'.

The band adopted a new approach to the writing which has resulted in what they believe to be a more cohesive set of songs. "We wrote around 70% of this material from jam rehearsals we'd recorded which was different to how previous songs had been written which were mainly written outside of rehearsals and then knocked into shape" says lead guitarist and singer Pete Thompson. "This time we delved through hours of rehearsal recordings and discovered lots of riffs and passages of music that we loved so the songs were built around those. It usually meant that lyrics were the last thing to be written which allowed them to flow through the album with regards to a theme; it's an album about loss, love and revolution".

It was recorded across two studios; The Mill, South Norfolk and the bands own studio The Halfway House. "We recorded all drums and bass at The Mill working with long time collaborator Jonny Cole" said drummer Stuart Catchpole " we got a solid foundation down for each song and then built them up back at the Halfway House; it's a way of working we've become really comfortable with".

The album was mastered by Pete Maher who has worked with The Killers, U2, The Rolling Stones and Liam Gallagher to name but a few. "Pete's masters always bring the tracks to life and we're continually blown away when we hear the finished results; it's a body of work we're really proud of and can't wait for people to hear it" added Jasper Stainthorpe who plays bass in the band.

The Magic E's play melodic Rock 'n' Roll that delivers "sounds of early Brit-Pop and Mod-Rock through building melodies and wonderfully textured sounds." (Anthem Review).
Their influences range from bands like The Who, The Clash and The Small Faces via 90's Indie such as The Stone Roses, Ride and The Charlatans whilst comparisons have often been made to Bruce Springsteen, Teenage Fanclub, The Gaslight Anthem and The Jam.

New Jersey-based Henry Lipput, music blogger and reviewer for numerous publications, made it his favourite album of 2017 and went as far as to write that the band were "the best British rock and roll band since the heyday of the Gallagher brothers".

The band completed their first UK tour in 2018 and won over an army of new fans as a result. 2019 sees the band release their second album alongside a number of live shows across the country in support of their new music.
